Our Day at the Neuschwanstein Castle

Journey to the Castle

8am–11am

8am, the day of your tour.
- We meet either at your hotel or at the Main Train Station in Munich.
8:41am
- Our train leaves. We settle into the comfort of the First Class section. You need some coffee? I’ll have some for you. You didn’t have time for breakfast? I can serve up something satisfying.
8:41am–10:41am
- Our train rolls along towards the Alps. Along the way, I regale you with stories about the castle.
10:41am–11am
- We arrive in Füssen and take a taxi to the village where the castle is located.

Visit to the Castle

11am–2pm

11am–Noon
- We enjoy a relaxing stroll through the charming village of Hohenschwangau, visiting the gardens of the other castle in the village and enjoying the scenic alpine lake. We pick up a tasty snack along the way.
Noon–1pm
- We head up the mountainside to the castle, either by riding the shuttle bus or by walking. We make sure to visit Mary’s Bridge with the iconic view of the castle.
1pm–2pm
- We visit the castle, amazed by its artistic beauty, cultural richness, and powerful stories.

Additional Enrichment

2pm–3:45pm

We enjoy the cultural richness or seasonal beauty of the area, with, for example, a visit to a Füssen café or a dip in an Alpine lake or a stroll along an alpine stream or a ride on the gondola to the top of Tegelberg. The options are endless!

Return to Munich

3:45pm–6:19pm

3:45pm
- We take a private taxi back to the Füssen train station
4:20 pm–6:19pm
- We roll along in the private comfort of the First Class Compartment of our Bavarian train, savoring the memories of the day
6:19pm
- We arrive back at the Munich Main Train Station, grateful for all that we were able to see and enjoy.
